About me

Hi and welcome to my personal portfolio! I'm Björn Blomquist, A 21-year-old digital media student at Hyper Island, Stockholm, Sweden.

When I applyed to Hyper Island, spring 2007, I was more then certain that I would be a kick ass designer when I graduated. Now I know that I won't! During the past year, I've focused more and more on project management, and in November I begin my seven month long internship period at North Kingdom in Stockholm, as a project manager / production leader.

I'm always up for a new challange, and Hyper Island has given me plenty. When I applyed to the school, I'd done two websites for companies, and some personal trial and error. Since then, a lot has happend, many doors have opend, and even if some has closed aswell, I'm looking forward towards an autumn filled with challanges and insanity!

Specialization

I'm an upcoming independent project manager and producer of websites and interactive stories that informs, provokes and entertains.

I try to manage each project a bit diferent from the last one. The feedback recieved from the last project, is taken in action during my next. By managing each project a bit diferent, I do belive that it helps me widen my knowledge, not only about the process but also about common problems and solutions, to learn how to handle new situations, problems aswell as success.

Beeing a project manager often includes aspects of an art director and content coordinator aswell. And that's something that makes my bells ring. To be able to include so many phases and workareas into my project management. I also do a lot of research, try to collect, organize, edit and develop content and try to make the work as easy as possible for my team. I hope that the future brings me a lot of diferent projects so I never stop raising my level of experience and knowledge as a project manager.

Expertise

3 years of virtual design studies and 1 year of working with webdevelopment. And now 2 years at the Digital Media education at Hyper Island.

My profesional experience reaches more widen for each month pasing by. From working inhouse at smaller companies, to working with models, profesional fashion designers, music artists, larger co-operations focusing on online security aswell as some realy cool Hyper projects like our promotional site at www.dm09stockholm.com.

Combinding these experience with my background as a group fitness instructor as well as many other challanging positions, I want to belive that it's just that, that makes me a good project manager.

Always try to look at your situation or your problem with fresh eyes, and instead of thinking outside the box, live outside the box, and visit the inside every once in a wile!

Featured work

Our last module during our first year at Hyper Island is called The Industry Project, where we work as a real agency with several clients at once. Securenet was our biggest client during these weeks.
